There are many breeds of Cat - all of them with their followings and before I decided to take up the serious step of breeding I looked at many of these . But in the end there was only one type of Cat I returned to again and again - the Birman - a truly beautiful feline.

She is a distinctive type - one look and you know she is a Pedigree animal. Her main features are - the heavenly Blue eyes - the bluer, the better. The semi-long silky coat,the sparkling white socks and gauntlets which distinguish her from so many other types and the coloured points.

She also comes these days with varieties of points colouring so that we have the classic Seal, the Blue, the Chocolate, the Lilac, the Tortie and now the Red series any or all of which may have the added variety of the Tabby-face and leg stripes - yet still retaining the pale coat with overtones of colour shading to both match and contrast with the points colour.

Added to this we have the most favourable temperament - although there are the odd exceptions - most breeders breed for type and temperament. and we like our Birmans to be warm and loving companions able to be handled without fear.
